About Bruce Irwin -
The Grand Master of
RouletteI
was very fortunate to be introduced to
The Midas Method by Bruce Irwin,
very early in my 'career'. Bruce Irwin was,
without a doubt, one of the all time great
casino players.
Back in 1962, Bruce
wrote the best seller "The Winners Edge"
which is
now out of print. It was published by
Collins Publisher and the President back
then,
Nick Harris, wrote this review of Bruce for
the Las Vegas Review magazine.

Bruce Irwin, a former (Canadian) Dental
Technician, has spent the last
four years gathering material
and conducting numerous tests of
his Midas Touch method in the
green felt arenas, in the
presence of newspaper and
television personalities.
On October 15, 1962 he played
against the IBM 1620 calculating
machine, which was programmed
for blackjack, with a group of
mathematicians as a audience. He
successfully won a paper profit
of $794.00 at the conclusion of
five individual games.
The author has appeared on many
television and radio shows to
demonstrate this amazing method,
and has taken a group of twelve
people to Grand Bahamas Island
for an all-expense-paid five day
gaming holiday which proved
successful.
In march 1962 Mr Irwins book,
"The Midas Touch - Your Key To
Casino Cash" was published (no
longer in print). In October of
that year he was barred from Las
Vegas for winning consistently.
I
asked him what had happened. He
explained… "I had been there for
a few months entertaining news
and TV people and paying their
expenses from my winnings, to
promote the book by proving my
money management worked
successfully. One night after
winning $3500 at roulette in the
Sahara Hotel, I went over to the
Dessert Inn to meet a girl I was
taking out at the time. She was
a violinist and finished at 3
am. When I left there, I was
arrested for vagrancy, with
$11,050 in my pocket!! It was
the understanding at time there
were 167 different charges on
vagrancy they had available. I
was politely told that I had
become a nuisance, that I was a
consistent winner, that I wasn’t
a US citizen, that gambling was
not a visible means of income
and so they didn’t want me there
any more. I left the next day.
Between 1967 and 1969 I was
barred from five clubs in
London, The Victoria Sporting
Club, Curzon House Club, Palm
Beach Club, Park Lane Club
Casino and the Knightsbridge
Club for winning consistently."
Soon after Bruce opened a new
Ontario school of gaming to
teach people to win. He had 65
staff teaching people how to
beat the casinos. Bruce made
many TV and radio appearances
including: Pierre Berton - CFTO-channel
9
Betty Kennedy- CFRB Radio
Scan CKCO - Channel 13
File 13 CKCO - Channel 13
Toronto To-Day - CFTO-Channel 9
W.5(Public Affairs) - CFTO-Channel

Bruce never lost against a casino in 21
years. He had won hundreds of thousands
of dollars, which was a lot of money
back then! He was barred from Casinos in
Las Vegas, Europe and the Bahamas. Bruce
met an untimely (?) death in 1985.
Thankfully, before his death, Bruce
produced a video explaining and
demonstrating his method. I'm fortunate
enough to have acquired a VHS copy of
his video, and even though its a copy
and the quality isn't that flash, I wouldn't part with.
Copies of his video are extremely rare,
but you can still get second-hand copies
of The Midas Method from online
retailers, such as Amazon.
His Method wins!
